NPC specialises in contracting and training services for the civil construction and mining industry throughout Queensland and Australia which includes the services listed above.

NPC began its life at MMG Century 300km north-west of Mt Isa in Queensland which is the world’s second largest open pit zinc mine. NPC’s first contract involved crushing aggregate for the mine site and, where possible, on-selling the crushed aggregate to outside sources such as the Department of Main Roads and local shire councils. This contract had never previously turned a profit. Within the first twelve months of NPC owning the contract a profit was made and NPC surpassed the mine’s requirements for material. NPC grew significantly from that first successful contract branching into various areas in the industry.

NPC run an Indigenous labour hire contract, which trains and employs Indigenous people as machine operators in the mine. This contract was extremely successful as NPC were able to retain staff better than the industry standard and in most cases doubling the standard. NPC has a policy of employing majority Aboriginal people, with a preference for those from local communities. Currently 80 per cent of NPC’s workforce is Indigenous at senior and low levels of the business.

NPC focuses on having a strong cultural foundation which is tune with the local community which in turn helps deliver strong commercial outcomes. We work, manage and plan with the betterment of Aboriginal people as a key motivation. We are breaking new ground in finding ways to deliver benefits from mining and civil contracts to the broader community. Having a successful business is our primary aim because this ensures we can support our community and social goals.
