Q. How do I apply for a job with NPC?
A. You can apply for a job with NPC via the Vacant Positions and Register for Work pages of this website.

Q. How will I know if my application has been received?
A. We will send you either a letter or an email to confirm that your application has been received and that you have been added to our database.

Q. How often are new jobs posted on your website?
A. Whenever new positions become available. However, you can register your interest in working for NPC at any time via the Register for Work page of this website. Everyone who registers their interest is entered into our database.

Q. What do I do if I wish to express interest in working for NPC but cannot see a relevant job vacancy?
A. You can register your interest in working for NPC at any time via the Register for Work page of this website. Alternatively, send your resume through with a covering letter stating the area of employment you are interested in.

Q. What happens after I apply for a job?
A. We will be in contact when suitable employment or training opportunities arise.

Q. Who can apply for a job with NPC?
A. Anyone can apply for a plant operator's job with NPC, as long as you are at least 18 years of age and hold a valid driver's license. Be sure to state whether you are Indigenous or not, as we have specific training programs for Indigenous people and will need to know which part of our database to include you in.

Q. Will I be required to complete a medical assessment and police check prior to employment?
A. Yes, you will be required to undergo a medical including drug and alcohol tests prior to employment. You will receive an information package which will give you all the necessary information about your medical assessments and other checks.

Q. What type of roster will I be expected to work?
A. Usually 12 hours per day, 14 days on, 7 days off on a fly-in, fly-out basis.

Q. What is it like to work at NPC?
A. Many people take up positions in the mining industry because it offers good pay, and the financial rewards of working in mining are certainly there. Potential workers should be aware though that you will be expected to work long shifts, of 12 hours per day, and you will also be required to do some night shifts. While you are on-site you will work hard, but in most cases you will also have seven days of R&R (rest and relaxation) at the end of each rostered shift.

Q. Are there any opportunities for advancement at NPC?
A. Yes, many of our operators have been able to move up into mentoring and management positions within our organisation. We also try to offer our workers the opportunity to diversify their skills and move into different parts of the operation if they wish to.
